Benefits of Digital Dictation and Transcription
Digital voice recorders, which offer recording time of up to 22 hours
along with a host of other advanced features, are fast becoming the
recording tool of choice among medical, legal & business professionals.
Whether you need to record lectures, interviews, meetings or simply
short notes and comments, digital voice recordings offer greater clarity,
last longer than tape and can be easily retrieved and manipulated.
-
Digital Voice Recorders allow users to 'insert edit' so you can build
your dictation in a non - linear fashion.
-
Transfer all of your voice recordings to your computer as files.
During the transfer process you can erase the contents of your recorder's
memory and start again. The downloaded files are usually very small
and can be emailed or transfered to your Transcription Service over
the Internet.
-
As there are no moving parts in a digital device that records to
solid state memory the device will last longer than a mechanical tape
recorder / player and you will experience fewer problems during the
life of the device.
-
As your recordings are downloaded and stored on your PC they can
be archived to optical media such as DVD or CD, there are no ongoing
consumable costs associated with the use of DVR's and unlike magnetic
tapes (micro-cassettes) the quality of your recordings do not degrade
over time.

The PC based software dictation client offers the greatest functionality. The software is fully compatible with Phillips & Olympus SpeechMike hardware. Files do not need to be downloaded from a device and are automatically transferred to our servers for transcription. You can keep track of your jobs, review and resubmit documents for corrections / alterations all from within the program.
-
Both DVR's and PC based dictation sofware provide advanced editing features such as insert edit and jump to markers so you can record your dictations in
a non linear fashion, quickly and easily find locations in your recording
that you want to expand on and insert additional material without
overwriting what you have already recorded.
-
Many of the DVR devices come with a desk-top cradle and can be configured
to download and transfer the dictation to Online Transcription Services
at the touch of a button - what could be simpler!. The devices also
come with additional features such as MP3 palyers and many can be
used as Flash Memory devices to store and transport files.
